About EESTEC
The Electrical Engineering STudents European assoCiation is a student organisation for Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) students at universities, institutes and schools of technology in Europe awarding an engineering degree. It was founded in Eindhoven, the Netherlands in 1986. Since 1995 it is a recognized association seated in Zürich, Switzerland. From the year 2002 the EESTEC seat returned back to the Netherlands, Delft. Currently there are 33 participating Local Committees from 21 countries.
What we do
EESTEC organizes professional workshops, international student exchanges, cultural and other events.
Workshops
The electrical engineering and computer science aspects of EESTEC are expressed through Workshops, the most important activity of the Association. During one week seminar lectures are presented by specialists from the industry and universities, and discussions are conducted in small group sessions. The subjects usually belong to the new technologies, special fields of electrical engineering, computer science or social aspects of engineering. An EESTEC Workshop is a strictly professional event with a bit of local sightseeing and feasting.
On the professional workshops students learn about technical accomplishments and new technologies in the fields of electrical engineering and computer science. Besides, students have the insight in the way that certain problems in other countries are being solved; therefore, they get more experience. Also, it is very important for future colleagues to make many acquaintanceships, and in that way, build the foundation for the future international collaboration and cultural scientific exchange.
Exchanges
During the exchange students from several Local Committees (LC) visit hosting LC. Reciprocal student visits of the local committees are carried out through short-term international exchanges, where students are provided by the opportunity to work in international environment and to learn more about other cultures and countries. By organizing these exchanges hosting LC gets the valuable experience in organization and keeping in touch with international scientific institutions and leading-edge companies from IT field.
